TAEC

The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre is housed in a renovated heritage building in the heart of Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. Here you can learn more about the diverse ethnic minorities of Laos.

Visit TAEC’s beautiful and informative museum exhibitions, buy authentic village-made handicrafts in the Museum Shop, and relax and enjoy a refreshing drink at the TAEC Cafe. The cafe also features a small activity centre for children and books for browsing.

TAEC is conveniently located at the foot of Phou Si hill, behind the Dala Market.

TAEC Boutique

The TAEC Boutique specializes in exclusive handcrafted products direct from ethnic minority groups across Laos. Located on the main street in Luang Prabang, just across from Villa Santi Hotel, TAEC Boutique features the TAEC Heirloom Collection, with one-of-a-kind textiles, carvings, and silver.

Languages Exhibits are in Lao and English. Translations are available in French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Korean and Chinese.

Seminars Seminars led by the TAEC Directors on topics such as Laos’ ethnic diversity and handicrafts can be arranged, please e-mail bookings@taeclaos.org for details.
Refreshments TAEC Café offers refreshing local drinks every day. Lunches of ethnic minority dishes may be booked in advance, please contact bookings@taeclaos.org for additional information.
