Meet a Hmong musician and learn more about the “raj nplaim”!

Mr. Tong Vatou is from Xieng Khouang Province. He studied English at the university here in Luang Prabang and moved back to Xieng Khouang to be a teacher. He is visiting for a few days to assist the TAEC team with music outreach in Kuathineung Village.

The raj nplaim is a very popular Hmong instrument and it can be used to communicate by mimicking spoken language. Tong and Dr. Marie-Pierre Lissoir will explain this fascinating instrument, play a few songs, and leave time for dynamic Q&A.
