Free Talk | Asian Blues: Natural Indigo Sources in Asia

Please join us for this special free talk by Dr. Anna Hartl, visiting agricultural scientist and research associate at the Division of Organic Farming, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria.

Her presentation will give a brief overview of indigo yielding plants and the chemical principals which make indigo so special and requiring sophisticated knowledge of processing and dyeing methods. The methods and some impressions from the field work of the ongoing research project “Asian Blues – Natural Indigo Sources in Asia”, funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), will be presented as well.
