Meet Ashley Remer, founder and “Head Girl” of Girl Museum – the world’s first and only museum dedicated to girls. Girl Museum focuses on the unique perspectives and experiences of girls, which are often absent or silent in traditional museum spaces. Their work includes exhibitions on topics as varied as “gamer girls,” girls during the British Empire, and warrior princesses. They collaborate with female artists, have a podcast called GirlSpeak, and publish an e-newspaper and educational guides.

Girl Museum is a virtual museum and entirely volunteer-run; learn more about the unique challenges and benefits of this model, and how they research and produce ground-breaking exhibitions and projects that explore the experience of being born and growing up female. Ashley will share stories from the organisation, her experience living in Laos, and their exhibitions.
