Webinar | Can Music Licensing Work for Traditional Artists? Meet ‘Hear & Found’

How a social enterprise is working to record, revive, and share music from the ethnic groups of Thailand.

Hear & Found is a Thai social enterprise started in 2018 to provide access to distinctive local music and sounds around Thailand. Their goal is to introduce these cultural resources to media creators and adventurous listeners while supporting indigenous groups and local musicians. Hear & Found also works with young music composers and sound engineers to infuse and meld these traditional sounds in contemporary contexts.

Founder and CEO Sirasar (Mae) Boonma will share how Hear & Found works with local musicians, and how music and sound can be a tool to create more social awareness and income opportunities for the indigenous people in Thailand.

We invite you to listen to the music and sounds from diverse ethnic groups in Thailand, and learn the stories behind them.

Sirasar Boonma (Mae) is a sound designer and social entrepreneur. As a sound designer, she has always been passionate about indigenous music and field recordings as well as the locals’ way of life. As a social entrepreneur, she plays a significant role in connecting indigenous and folklore music with technology to create access for adventurous audiences worldwide.
