Kmhmu Jungle Vine (Piat) Tassel Shopper

Hand-crocheted by Kmhmu artisans in Oudomxai Province in northern Laos, this roomy shopper is made out of the sturdy and sustainable Liana jungle vine. Traditionally Kmhmu would use jungle vine bags to carry vegetables and herbs from the forest — in their modern incarnation, they can be used to carry the same from the farmer’s market. They can be hand-washed and rolled up for easy storage!
