Tai Lao Mulberry Fibre Coasters (Set of 6)

These set of six colourful coasters are made of handspun, handwoven mulberry fibre with natural dyes by Tai Lao artisans in Vientiane Province. The diamond motif is traditional yet contemporary and they come in a variety of subtle natural hues. Look out for our matching placemats too!

Mulberry trees are prevalent in Laos, and mulberry leaves are the favoured food of silkworms. Mulberry paper has long been used in the country, but mulberry fibre has only recently been employed as a textile material.
